Soldatov A.V. – a Ph.D., professor, the head of the department of philosophy and sociology at St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University.

In 1970 he graduated from philosophical and physical faculties at Leningrad State University named after A. A. Zhdanov (now St. Petersburg State University).

From 1970 to 1973 he studied at the full-time postgraduate course of the philosophical faculty at Leningrad State University, named after A. A. Zhdanov in the speciality "philosophical problems of natural science".

In 1994 he defended the candidate dissertation on the above mentioned speciality at Leningrad State University.

From 1970 to 1990 he worked at the department of dialectic materialism of the philosophical faculty at Leningrad State University named after A. A. Zhdanov as an assistant and since 1976 – an associate of professor.

In 1990 he was elected by the Scientific Council as the head of the philosophical department (now the department of philosophy and sociology) at Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute where he is working at present.

In 1991 he defended thesis for degree of doctor in the speciality philosophy of science and technology 09.00.08.

Since 2005 he has been working as a professor at the department of Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Hertzen.

In 1984 – 1986 he worked as an advisor to the dean of the faculty of philosophy at the University of "Oriente" in Santiago-de-Cuba, Republic Cuba.

His scientific interests: philosophy and sociology of science, the dialogue of science and religion, science of religion, history of science and technology. He is the author of more than 210 scientific publications issued in Russia and abroad.

A.V. Soldatov is the president of St. Petersburg Academy of history science and technology and an executive director of the Foundation of Study the problem of science and theology.

Professor Soldatov A.V. is an honored Scientist of the Science in Republic Dagestan and the Russian Federation.

In 2019 he obtained the title of Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation in the sphere of education.

Professor Soldatov A.V. is a chairman of the United Council for thesis for degree of doctor D 999.077.02 in history and philosophy of science and technology, founded on the base of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Hertzen and St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University.
