VYACHESLAV V. SCHERBINA

In 1967 he graduated from the Lipetsk Metallurgical College with a degree in coke-chemical production technology.

Graduated from the history department of Voronezh State University in 1973.

In 1987 he presented his Ph.D. thesis.

In 1993 - doctoral dissertation (the degree was approved in 1994).

Married, has an adult son.

From 1975 to 1988 he worked in the field of factory sociology. He started as a factory sociologist in the laboratory of NOT the Lipetsk Tractor Plant. Then he worked as the head of a design and consulting group as part of the social development department of the Moscow design and technological association under the State Committee (MKSO) of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR.

From 1980 to 1988 worked first as the head of the department of sociological research in the NIS for labor of the Glavmosavtotrans (the department served as a center for the development of social technologies for working with personnel), and later was the Chief Sociologist of this Glavk. During this period, he headed one of the first in Moscow and one of the largest sectoral personnel services, created on the basis of the sociological service, in which up to 60 sociologists worked. During his work at Glavmosavtotrans more than a dozen social technologies aimed at working with personnel. were developed by Shcherbina (and under his leadership), Many of these technologies are still used in human resources management today.

In the period from 1988 to 2013 he worked in Moscow universities, combining teaching with management consulting. During this time, he worked first as an associate professor (Department of Labor Sociology) and Professor (Department of Sociology of Organizations) at the Sociological Faculty of Moscow State University; later he was a Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology of Organizations at the Sociological Faculty of the Russian State Social University; then Professor and Head of the Department of Human Resource Management, and later Theory of Organizations at two management faculties of the State University - Higher School of Economics; then professor and head of the Department of Sociology of Organizations and Social Technologies at the Sociological Faculty of the Russian State University for the Humanities. In 2013. he went to work at the Center for Sociology and Social Technologies of the IS RAS. He still heads the department at the RSUH, working part-time at the university. He was a member of academic councils for specialized specialties in a number of universities - Moscow State University, MGSU, SU HSE, Russian State University for the Humanities and a number of other universities. Working at the State University - Higher School of Economics, for a number of years he headed the permanent operating commission on conflict resolution.

 

In 1990, he trained in Berlin at the Humboldt University. During the same period, he took part in an international comparative study of the management of industrial enterprises in the USSR and Germany, conducted by Moscow State University in conjunction with the University of Bremen. He headed a group of researchers from the Moscow State University. During his work at universities, he was invited to lecture on sociological and managerial issues (Sociology of Organizations, General Theory of Organizations, Sociological Diagnostics in Management, Social Technologies, Human Resource Management) at many universities in Moscow and the country, including GAUGN. At GAUGN, he lectures and at the present time. Among the universities where Shcherbina gave lectures on the sociology of organizations was the well-known Warsaw Business School named after Kozminsky.

During his work in sociology, he actively participated in consulting activities both in the Soviet and post-Soviet periods. Among the large consulting projects successfully implemented by V.V. Shcherbina (or with his participation), you can name: projects in the Kirov road construction trust (Kirov and Kirov region); in Mosgortrans; at the Zorile shoe factory (Chisinau); at the Sewing Association them. Volodarsky (Dneproperovsk); at a number of enterprises of the KAMAZ Association; in the Samara branch of the YUKOS company; in the real estate investment agency MIAN (Moscow).

For many years he worked as an expert (both second and first level) in the Humanitarian Fund (RHNF). He received grants for the implementation of research projects in connection with the publication of books at the Humanitarian Fund and at the Russian State Humanitarian University. He participated in the work on a grant from V.A. Yadova while preparing the book "Sociology in Russia". For a certain period of time he was a member of the expert council of the Higher Attestation Commission on Sociology. For many years he was and is a member of the editorial board of the journal “Sotsis”, the deputy editor-in-chief of the journal «Person.Culture. Society”.

 

Author of about 150 works on sociological-managerial sociological-organizational problems, including 11 books (monographs, manuals, textbooks, dictionaries), 10 brochures, several dozen articles in academic journals.
