Graduated from Czech Technical University (Prague, Czech Republic) in Aircraft Technology (1986). PhD from Prague University of Economics and Business in International Economic Relations (2004). Second PhD from Charles University (Prague) in International Political Relations (2009). Associate Professor at Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague in 2011. Full Professor at the same university since 2019.

In 1987-1991 he worked as supervisor in aircraft industry; in 1994-2007 business director of an international trade company; since 2007 University lecturer and researcher in Macroeconomics and International Economics at Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague. He lectures the following courses in the English taught programmes: Trade Theory and Foreign Trade, Macroeconomics, International Economics and Quantitative Methods in Macroeconomics. His main research interests are in Foreign Trade, International Economics, Quantitative Methods in Macroeconomics.

Member of the editorial boards of “International Journal of Trade and Global Markets”,” Journal of Trade and Global Markets”, “African Journal of Economic and Management Studies” and “PSU Research Review: An International Journal” (The Netherlands).

Member of the European Association of Agricultural Economists, the International Association of Agricultural Economists and Czech Agricultural Sciences.
