Graduated from the Department of Philosophy of the A. A. Zhdanov Leningrad State University (currently St. Petersburg State University Institute of Philosophy) in 1979, qualified as philosopher, professor of philosophy and social sciences.

She completed a full-time post-graduate course at the Leningrad State University  and in 1985 defended her PhD thesis. She was awarded the academic title of associate professor in 1992.

She is currently working as an associate professor at the Department of Sociology and Political Science.

Her field of scientific research is methodology of social cognition, sociology of communication, interpersonal and intergroup communication. Author of more than 100 scientific and educational-methodological works, including 2 monographs.
