Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of Saint Petersburg State Electotechnical University (ETU “LETI”).
Graduated with honors Leningrad State Electrical Engineering Institute (now – Saint Petersburg State Electotechnical University (ETU “LETI”), has additional education in the field of linguistics. From 1980 to 1984 worked at the institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Later she was a full-time post-graduate student and in 1989 defended Ph.D. thesis and worked at ETU “LETI” as a research worker, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor. The academic title of Associate Professor at the department of Foreign Languages was awarded to her in 1998.
On her initiate and with her active participation the scientific journal on social and humanities directions “Discourse” was launched in 2015. Since its establishment she has been a member of the Editorial Board, at present – deputy Editor-in-Chief. The journal is included in the list of the Supreme Attestation Commission (ISSN 2412-8562 (print), ISSN 2658-7777 (online)) and is indexed in RSCI.
Nina K. Higauri is a deputy Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of the annual All Russian scientific conference “Information – Communication – Society” (RSCI) which is held at ETU since 2000, as well as annual scientific-practical conferences «LETI Communication Experts Festival» (earlier – «PR-profession of the third millennium») (RSCI) held since 2000 and «Actual Problems of Linguistics» (RSCI) held since 2010.
Scientific and practical interests of Nina K. Higauri are in the field of theory and practice of translation, improvement of education quality in Humanities, development of educational and methodical support of the educational process, training of highly qualified personnel. She is the author of 36 scientific, educational and methodical works.
Nina K. Higauri is awarded with Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (2007), Honorary title “Honorary worker of higher professional education of the Russian Federation” (2011). For many years of scientific and pedagogic activity, important contribution to ensuring the studying process she was awarded the title of “Honorary worker of Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University “LETI” (2017).
