Daniil Y. Dorofeev

In 1991 he applied to the Faculty of Philosophy of the St. Petersburg State University (SPbSU), which he graduated with honors in 1996, receiving the specialty "Philosopher, teacher of philosophy and social and humanitarian disciplines". In 1996 he entered the postgraduate study of the Faculty of Philosophy of St. Petersburg State University at the Department of Philosophical Anthropology. In 2000, he also successfully presented his Ph.D. thesis on the topic "Philosophical Anthropology as a Phenomenology of Life Experience".

In September 1999, he was hired by the St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications named after prof. M.A. Bonch-Bruevich (SPbSUT) at the Department of Philosophy, where he worked as an assistant, senior teacher, associate professor and professor.

While working at SPbSUT in different periods, he served as deputy Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Editor-in-Chief of the “Bulletin of the Faculty of Humanities, St. Petersburg State University”. Since February 2014 he has been working as a professor at the Department of Philosophy at the St. Petersburg Mining University.

In 2008 he received a scholarship for a doctorate at the Faculty of Philosophy of St. Petersburg State University, and in 2011 he successfully presented his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Spontaneity and sovereignty as a category of philosophical and anthropological research.”

The sphere of scientific interests is modern philosophy and philosophical anthropology, problems of understanding of the individual, philosophical and anthropological foundations of communications. Since 2006 he is the head of the Russian Max Scheler Society, a member of the International Scheler Society, the St. Petersburg Philosophical Society and the Platonic Society. In 2008 he won the Second Navigation Prize of the St. Petersburg Philosophical Society.
