SERGEY I. CHERNYKH

Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of History and Philosophy of the Novosibirsk State Agrarian University.

Born on October 31, 1951 in the city of Novosibirsk.

Graduated from the Department of Humanities of Novosibirsk State University in 1973. From 1978 to 1981 studied at postgraduate (PhD) courses at NSU. From 1981 till now he has been working at the Novosibirsk State Agrarian University, first as a Lecturer, then as a Senior Teacher, then as an Assistant Professor of the department (until 2019, the department of philosophy, then history and philosophy). Head of the Department since 2009. He got his PhD (Candidate) degree in Philosophy in 1990 and degree of Doctor of Philosophy in 2012. He got the academic title of Associate Professor's at the Department of Philosophy in May 1992.

Since 2011 he is a chief editor of the journal "Professional Education in the Modern World" (ISSN 2224-1841 print; 2712-7923 online). Member of the editorial board of the “Discourse” journal. Member of several Dissertation Councils. Under his guidance two degree-seeking applicants defended their theses: Candidate of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy.

Research interests are in the field of social philosophy, philosophy of education, theoretical pedagogy, sociology of education, history and philosophy of science. Sergey Chernykh is the author of more than 250 research and research-methodical works, including six monographs and 15 textbooks. He was repeatedly awarded with diplomas, including the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Education and Science (2016) and the Certificate of Commendation from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation (2014). Member of the Russian Philosophical Society.
