Настоящее исследование посвящено выявлению специфики языковой репрезентации образа изобретателя в англоязычном научно-популярном дискурсе и содержит описание механизмов использования стратегии создания имиджа и стратегии солидаризации. Актуальность статьи обусловлена всевозрастающим интересом общественности к научным знаниям в эпоху технического прогресса и общим развитием научно-популярного направления, а очевидная значимость человеческого фактора в презентации изобретения именно с позиции его создателя указывает не только на возможность неоднозначной интерпретации научной новости, но и определяет общую антропоцентричность медийных материалов данной направленности. Анализируя языковые способы представления научно-технических достижений в тексте и общие стратегии создания образа ученого, авторы статьи таким образом выявляют типичные медийные характеристики современного изобретателя. Особое внимание авторы акцентируют на таких интегративных характеристиках научно-популярного дискурса, как авторитетность и состязательность.</p></sec><sec><title>Методология и источники</title><p>Методология и источники. Исследование проводилось на материале англоязычных научно-популярных интернет-изданий технического профиля – Popular Mechanics, Mit News Education, Science Daily, Interesting Engineering, SciTechDaily. Для отбора текстов применялся метод сплошной выборки, который позволил представить наиболее типичные и вместе с тем интересные случаи презентации изобретения и самопрезентации изобретателя. Работа выполнена в рамках дискурсивного подхода. Основная методология исследования языковой специфики актуализации стратегии создания имиджа и стратегии солидаризации включала в себя метод семантического анализа, метод семантико-стилистического анализа, элементы коммуникативно-прагматического метода.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты и обсуждение</title><p>Результаты и обсуждение. Стратегия формирования имиджа и стратегия солидаризации актуализируются в научно-популярном дискурсе на лексико-грамматическом и синтаксическом уровнях и предполагают обращение к стилистическим приемам. Каждая из вышеупомянутых стратегий соответствует одному из двух типов научно-популярных текстов об открытиях и изобретениях. В первом случае речь идет о самопрезентации изобретателя, которая имеет свою языковую специфику. Во втором случае представление изобретения, дополненное комментариями о его создателе, осуществляется научной общественностью и носит преимущественно профессионально оценивающий характер, что также выражено на уровне языка и до- ступно изучению. Важным результатом проведенного исследования стал вывод о многоликости медийного образа современного изобретателя, что позволяет говорить о тенденции формирования реалистичного образа ученого.</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение. Изучение специфики языкового представления изобретателя дает возможность понимания глубокой антропоцентрической природы самого изобретения, поскольку последнее неотделимо от изобретателя, являясь результатом его научной деятельности и профессиональных амбиций, а также условием личностного роста. Методология проведенного анализа может быть применима не только к дальнейшим исследованиям статуса ученого, но и к подобным исследованиям на материале другого профиля для анализа языковой репрезентации создающего субъекта во взаимосвязи с его произведением.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Introduction</title><p>Introduction. The present paper aims at revealing and describing the linguistic means of creating the inventor’s image in the English language science popular discourse. The study also describes the use of image creation strategy and solidarity strategy. The relevance of the research is defined, firstly, by unconditional and ever-increasing public interest in scientific knowledge in the era of technological progress. Secondly, regarding the obvious importance of the human factor in the presentation of an invention from the creator’s point of view makes it possible for the mass reader to interpret the science news in various ways and see the modern inventor’s most typical features. Thus, analyzing the specific representation of the invention in popular science media texts the authors offer their own original conception of a modern innovator, which defines the novelty of the study. Special attention is focused on credibility and competitive nature of science popular discourse which are its integrative features.</p></sec><sec><title>Methodology and sources</title><p>Methodology and sources. The research is based on the English language sciencepopular media texts – Popular Mechanics, Mit News Education, Science Daily, Interesting Engineering, SciTechDaily. For the selection of technically-focused media texts the continuously sampling method was used. The general methodology of studying image creation strategy and solidarity strategy also includes the method of semantic analysis, the method of semantic-stylistic analysis, elements of communicative-pragmatic analysis and the method of contextual analysis.</p></sec><sec><title>Results and discussion</title><p>Results and discussion. Image creation strategy and solidarity strategy are implemented in science popular discourse mainly on lexical and syntactic levels and imply the use of stylistic devices. Each of the strategies mentioned above matches a certain type of science popularized texts about inventions and discoveries. The first type is about the selfpresentation of the innovator, and has its own linguistic features. The second type includes the description of an invention from the position of scientific community. The significant result of the study is the conclusion about the diverse nature of the inventor’s media image.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. The study of the linguistic specific of the inventor’s image allows a deeper understanding of the anthropocentric nature of an invention itself. The last one is inseparable from its creator being the result of scientific activity and professional ambitions, as well as the personal growth condition.
